University of Pretoria UP International Student Application

Application for admission to undergraduate study programmes for both South African and international citizens close on specific dates in the year preceding the year of study.

You should know that you would only be admitted after meeting the minimum requirement so check out the University of the Witwatersrand Nursing Requirements.

To use the Online Application System you will need internet access, as well as an email address that you can access regularly, because as soon as you submit your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be sent to this email address as confirmation of receipt.

Important Notice for International Students

  • International students need to comply with immigration requirements. For assistance and enquiries, email [email protected].
  • The registration guidelines show you step by step how to register successfully. In case of difficulties, contact the online registration help desk from 6 January 2024 on telephone +27 (0) 12 420 5347 or email us at [email protected].
  • Various holds may prevent you from registering successfully. Please check for holds on the UP Student Centre.
  • Consult the Yearbooks for information on which modules to choose and curriculum.
  • Assisted online registration will be available at the Hillcrest Campus from 13 January until 31 January. Gates will be open 08:00 to 15:30.
  • Hillcrest Campus is a cashless venue, it may take up to 7 working days for payment made outside of South Africa to reflect in UP’s account. Please pay in advance.
  • All first year students need to collect their student access card at Hillcrest Campus before or on 25 January 2024.
  • It is in your best interest to complete your own application. The University of Pretoria does not make use of representatives, agents or agencies during the application process. If you choose to make use of representatives, agents or agencies, you do so at own risk. 
  • The closing dates are non-negotiable. It is your responsibility to ensure you apply before the applicable deadline! 
  • It is of utmost importance that you provide your correct personal email and postal addresses to enable the University of Pretoria to communicate with you directly.

  1. Visit the URL https://upnet.up.ac.za/psc/upapply/EMPLOYEE/SA/c/UP_OAP_MENU.UP_OAP_LOGIN_FL.GBL?&
  2. Select Start New Application in the dialog box
  3. Click OK
  4. Select the career of study.
  5. Follow the On-screen instructions to complete your application by providing all the required information
