Application Requirements

The requirements for international applicants include:

Application Form
You may submit the Common Application online or by mail. If you would like an application mailed to you, please contact the Office of Admissions. There is a $60 application fee to submit a paper application; the fee is waived if you apply online.

Official Secondary School Transcript
Official transcripts are required from each secondary school attended, and you must submit your first marking period grades as soon as they become available. Your secondary school administrator may submit your current high school transcript by mail or through the Common Application website. Transcripts not in English must be translated into English by a certified translator. Official, final secondary school transcripts with proof of graduation must be received before enrolling at Emmanuel. Secondary school transcripts must include all courses taken and grades received. National examination results should be included, but will not be considered an official transcript alone.

Official College Transcripts (transfer applicants only)
If you are applying as a transfer student, we require official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended, including grades from the most recent semester. All transcripts not in English must be translated into English by a certified translator. In addition, transcripts from institutions outside of the United States must be reviewed by an official credential evaluator. It is highly recommended, but not required, to have transcripts reviewed by an official credential evaluator. Please see the following links for official credential evaluators:

*Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic World Education Services (WES) and the Center for Educationtion Documentation (CED) are not available at this time for transcript credential evaluation.

Advanced Standing Credit

You may be able to accelerate your academic program at Emmanuel College through advanced standing credit.

Advanced Placement (AP)

AP scores will be evaluated by academic departments, and typically offer college credit equivalent to one full Emmanuel course. If you receive credit for an AP examination, you will be placed at an advanced level in the appropriate academic department. Generally, scores of 4 or 5 are accepted in exchange for credit at Emmanuel.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
Grades of four, five, six or seven on the IB higher level examinations entitle you to credit for at least one course. Each academic department at Emmanuel will determine the specific amount of credit to be awarded.

College Credit
The Office of the Registrar assesses coursework taken at other institutions for eligibility for Emmanuel credit. In most cases, Emmanuel awards credit for courses for which you earn a grade of C (2.0) or better. While there is no limit to the number of courses that are accepted to transfer, a minimum of 16 courses or 64 credits must be completed at Emmanuel to earn an Emmanuel College degree.

Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) Application Form (for non-U.S. citizens)
At the time of deposit, the I-20 Application Form must be completed by you and your parent/sponsor and submitted with an original bank statement documenting a minimum of $67,517 USD in available funds. The official bank statement must be issued within 12 months of the start date of your program. The U.S. government requires all colleges to verify its students’ financial resources prior to issuing an I-20. This process must be completed to obtain or renew an F-1 visa, or to maintain your current F-1 status. Please submit a copy of the identification page of your passport. Non-U.S. citizens are also required to complete the International Student Information Form contained in the I-20 application. Transfer students from a U.S. institution will be required to submit the SEVIS transfer form.
